These Terms & Conditions govern all sales, services, and repairs provided by Computer Land, located at Shop 18a Twin Palms shopping centre, 101 Altena Road, Strand.
1. Warranty Policy
1.1 New Products
All new hardware components include a 1-year carry-in warranty, unless otherwise specified in writing.
Laptop batteries and chargers carry a 6-month warranty.
Consumables and software are sold without warranty.
1.2 Refurbished & Second-Hand Goods
Include a 6-month limited warranty covering hardware failure under normal use.
Battery life, cosmetic wear, and general wear-and-tear are not covered.
Items sold "voetstoots" are excluded from warranty and must be acknowledged in writing by the buyer.
1.3 Warranty Exclusions
Power surges, lightning damage, or unstable power supply.
Physical or liquid damage, cracked screens, or damaged ports.
Virus infections, software corruption, or data loss.
Unauthorised tampering or third-party repairs.
1.4 Warranty Procedure
All claims are subject to inspection and testing.
Products deemed End-of-Life (EOL) may be credited at current market value.
Repair, replacement, or credit is at the sole discretion of Computer Land and its suppliers.
All warranty services are carry-in only.
2. Returns & Credits
2.1 Return Policy
Returns accepted within 48 hours of purchase.
Goods must be unopened and in original packaging.
Must be accompanied by the original invoice.
2.2 Non-Returnable Items
Opened software, consumables, and refurbished goods sold voetstoots.
Special orders and custom-built PCs are non-refundable.
3. Repairs, Service & Liability
3.1 Acknowledgement of Repair Risks
Component Failures: Internal parts may fail due to pre-existing faults.
Physical Damage: Cosmetic casing, plastic clips or screw mounts may break during repair.
Data Loss: Customers must back up data prior to service.
Software Issues: May persist or reset during repairs.
Warranty Voiding: Repairs may void manufacturer warranties.
Repair Delays: Part sourcing and unforeseen issues may cause delays.
Loss or Theft: Computer Land is not liable for external incidents; customers are advised to insure valuable items.
3.2 Minimum Service Fee
A non-refundable R400 service fee applies to all booked devices, regardless of repair outcome.
3.3 Device Collection Policy
Devices not collected within 30 days will be considered abandoned.
Abandoned items may be disposed of via e-waste with no further liability.
4. Ownership and Payment
All goods remain the property of Computer Land until fully paid.
Unpaid goods are not eligible for warranty or further service.
Service may be withheld on overdue accounts.
5. Limitation of Liability
Computer Land's liability is limited to the repair, replacement, or refund of the item. We are not responsible for indirect losses including data, income, or downtime.
6. POPIA Consent
I consent to Computer Land using my personal information for repair and communication purposes, in line with POPIA.
7. Legal Compliance
These terms are in accordance with the Consumer Protection Act (CPA), Act 68 of 2008. Nothing herein limits your rights under South African law.
